@V1L3: I'm really looking forward to snapping that up when I get a PS3. I've loved the Wipeout series from the get go and Studio Liverpool are great at supporting their games.
@zachncheeze: the worst thing about this generation is paid-for DLC. PC gamers have been getting free content for years, even EA used to patch in whole new maps, vehicles, even new nations into Battlefield. games used to get new maps patched in all the while, now we have to pay for 'map packs'. everything Live does is free on the PC yet people are more than happy to pay for it on a console.
@EnigmaNemesis: I watched the new trailer for GT5. I couldn't tell what was pre-rendered and what was real footage. I mean, the game looked photorealistic in the PS2 days, but now, damn. It's amazing.
@-MasterDex-: Well if the content is significant enough to be considered a full expansion I don't see the problem. Or if the additional content is something crazy and costly (like a licensed property) it seems justified to me.
If infamous had a crossover with Marvel universe or there was an "vs SNK" expansion for Street Fighter IV I'd expect to pay for that kind of DLC.
For me it's the direction I wish more games would go in.. purchasing NHL or Madden every single year for a handful of minor improvements and updated jerseys/rosters doesn't make sense. Develop a "platform" and then support it with significant DLC and patches for a few years while spending the time required to develop a truly redefining sequel.

I totally agree that's why I said in most cases. As long as the DLC is substantial enough to warrent a price then I have no problem paying for it.

Agreed. Stuff like this is ridiculous.

I do get aggrivated by DLC like Forza's DLC, or stupid shit like Street Fighter IV's DLC.
Developers shouldnt get cheap and try to make you pay more for stuff that should have been in the game in the first place.
Were paying for a racing game here, not a racing game engine.
