@pandafresh: oh and PS, why is that rubmle seems to be so iffy for game companies, how the fuck are courts allowing people to take claim on inventing thats been out for more than 10 years now? the n64 and ps1 had rumble didnt they!? SHEEZ
Indeed they did, and many arcade games before that. I remember this submarine game with a periscope, when you got hit with a torpedo the whole thing shook. Against your face. It was unpleasant.
@bmart008: @Spritz: Without knowing the specifics of this particular case, to me, it does sound like there was an ethical breach. Surely this: "In the process of providing that help, Thorner says he licensed some of his own patents to PDP, and in doing so enlisted the help of some layers. The same lawyers who, it turns out, were in the process of handling Sony's case against Immersion. Those lawyers, Thorner alleges, "encouraged him to accept terms that were less than favorable"." counts as a "conflict of interest" no?
Wait, wasn't cell factor that free game designed to promote Physx cards? I remember trying to play that without, and was hardly able to run it on low everything setting. That and it was pretty basic, didn't let you even PLAY about half the levels if you didn't have a physx card installed, and didn't let you do...well much of anything except use regenerating destructible environments as weapons as a psychic dude, which was neato.

Sony wouldn't even be in this business if Nintendo hadn't screwed them over first.

He was convinced to agree to something. Unless they threatened him, the agreement stands.
